Crieff and The Knock

After our Earthquake Walk, we headed to Crieff for a look around the town, some lunch, a walk up Crieff Knock to see the view and some food shopping at the Co-op.

Here are a few photos.

The street lights in the centre of the town have an interesting design.

We visited The Crieff Food Co.

It was funny to see Suffolk salami on sale here.

Downstairs was the café where we had our lunch.

Dawn needed help with her ploughman's platter.

Some time was spent in The House of Tartan Shop.

So instead of starting in the town centre, as we had free parking for only 3 hours, we drove up to above Crieff Hydro (where we stayed in 2007 for the joint golden wedding celebrations of my Mum and Dad and Aunt Agnes and Uncle Miller along with our siblings, cousins and their children too - see here. And Dawn's archery hasn't improved.).

From here it was only a short climb to the Knock of Crieff, 241m above sea level.

There are great views. This is looking along the Earn valley towards Comrie and the highland hills beyond to the west.

We could see the Melville Monument, if not the town below.

Then it was back down to the Hydro....

...followed by some food shopping.

You can see more of my photos here on Flickr.
