Ampton Water Walk

Joyce was meeting with David Falk to discuss the Suffolk Walking Festival at the Folk Cafe, and she invited some of us along to walk with her to Ampton Water after her meeting. As Laura was home and it was the School holidays, I brought Dawn and Laura with me and we were joined by Miranda, setting out just before mid-day.

This was our route.

Of course we have a done a lot of this route before on our Fornham St. Genevieve walk (with film crew) in May, but Mirnanda had missed that and Dawn and Laura had never been.

Here are a few photos including some from Miranda.(Thanks Miranda!).

In the cafe while David and Joyce finished their meeting. The coffee was delicious and the food looked very appetising.

Across Ampton Racecourse towards Ingham Church.

The maize has grown!

The rickety bridge.

Dawn and Laura in the undergrowth.

and then Laura and I going through the field...

No Roland in the tree today.

Ampton Hall

Some flowers and butterflies.

There were lots of ducks.

Crossing the lake.

Refreshments at the The Cadogan.

Back across the racecourse.

Heading back towards the cafe.

The swallows were waiting for us at journey end.

Oh... and one last butterfly photo...

A lovely walk. Thanks Joyce and Miranda.
