Melrose Town Walk

Today we went to Melrose and our booklet came in handy. We started with a Town Walk. This was our route...

This was the trail in our booklet, although we did add a bit on to go further along the River Tweed and didn't bother with the extra loop past tyhe Grammar School and along the bypass.

A few photos...

The Abbey, unlike Jedburgh, has a roof in places.

We were at the foot of the Eildon Hills.

A nice footbridge across the Tweed.

The Cauld.

Along the riverside path.

The Rugby pitch was all ripped up. It looks like they are installing heating underneath it.

There are plenty of old-fashioned shops.

The town square. We would be back at the hotel there for our dinner tonight.

You can see more photos here on Flickr and more details of our walk here on MapMyWalk,
