Suffolk Youth Orchestra at the Snape Proms
This was a musical treat. After their week of touring Italy, the Suffolk Youth Orchestra (pictured here at a previous concert at the same venue - can you see William and Sarah?), gave a concert as part of the Snape Proms.
Here is another photo of them rehearsing for their Easter concert.
The concert was a sell-out - well all the seats were occupied and there were a fair few prommers on cushions on the floor at the front.
This was the listing in the proms brochure...
A challenging programme and very well performed. I thought the woodwind were outstanding in the Bizet as was the ensemble playing, but it was the Tchaikovsky that really demonstrated the full abilities assembled talent. Great stuff and Sarah and William enjoyed being part of it.
Oh. I neglected to mention earlier... As the four of us were walking back to the car with Sarah and William carrying their instruments, a couple we were passing remarked to Sarah and William. "Well done and thank-you for a lovely evening". That's what I thought too.
