Queen Elizabeth Country Park Walk

Well a bit of a change of plan today. Instead of staying in Portsmouth and visiting the Food Festival again for lunch, Miss L suggested going to a country park in the South Downs for a walk - Queen Elizabeth Country Park. It's only about 13 miles inland, just off the A3, so didn't take long to get to. We got a map.Which walk to go on? Miss S wanted the short one, but the rest of us voted for the "Purple" walk. So off we went up a longer and steeper climb than you can find in Suffolk... Half way up Miss L was already asking for some water. This was our route.

It was a hot sunny day again, so we were glad of the shade we had for a lot of the way, but I was expecting more views than we got, having climbed to more than 1000'. Instead, all we got to see was trees... with a glimpse of views beyond. But we did see lots of butterflies and, eventually, we got some views to the South. We also found some small, but delicious, raspberries!
