On our holiday in Northumberland last month, one of the culinary highlights was the soup we had at The Ship Inn at Low Newton (see here).
I bought some sweet potatoes during the weekly shop last week and thought I'd use some to try and recreate it.
I had a search for recipes and combined several to make my own version. I wont give away my secret entirely as I might tweak it next time, but it included sweet potato, red lentils, onion, root ginger, garlic, chilli, rosemary leaves and vegetable stock. Here it is ready at the start of cooking
