Winter Beer Festival

Today was the start of the 3-day Winter Beer Festival in Bury St. Edmunds, which I much enjoyed last year.

Look who came with me this year!

Dawn wanted to go shopping in town so walked with me and when I told her entry was free, she decided to come and have a beer with me... or, as it turned out... 4 1/2 pints.

There was a good selection of beers and ciders at the stillage here and on the handpumps at the bar.

Favourites included:

• Nethergate's Mosaic Christmas (3.5%) - Dawn's first one
• Artefact Dark Mild (3.2%)
• Three Blind Mice's Juice Rocket (4.5%)
• Three Blind Mice's Citra and Sabro (4.5%) - I thought Dawn might have found these too a bit fruity, but she loved them
• Lacons Heritage Ale (6.0%) and
• Comrade Bill Bartram's Egalitarian Anti-Imperialist Soviet Stout (6.9%) - My last one, mysteriously appearing again despite the brewery being closed years ago.

Great fun. I'll be back for the Spring version in April... and I expect Dawn will come too.
