Protective Visors

Look what Dawn, her fellow teachers and children of key worker shave been up to at school this week...

She was in school on Thursday and they made 120 of them in the day! As this article in the Bury Free Press says...

'Key worker students and staff at Thurston Community College have produced more than 150 visors to help protect those on the front line during the coronavirus crisis.

In response to the demand for personal protection equipment, the design technology department at the college decided to produce the face masks using materials they had to hand.

On Tuesday, a handful of students and staff produced 32 visors in 80 minutes and were 'inundated with requests' after posting them on Facebook.

Julia Mosley, head of design technology, said: "The masks made are simple and can be cleaned reducing the need for single use."

"We have been inundated with requests. The students and staff have been very keen to help wherever they can, it has been a great team effort for us to do something to help in this time of need."

While they are not made in a professional medical environment and do not have the testing or CE marks they should hopefully help stop the spread of the virus for some at risk key workers.'

Well done to them all!
